Australian Standard AS4024.1 dictates that guarding cannot be removed without the use of tooling. The old system of welding nuts onto the mesh upper cup is slow and costly with the requirement to obtain a Hot Works Permit.
The Macarise Services solution is a patented no weld system where a hole is drilled in the mesh upper cup and a special nut is swaged into position.
A special purpose bolt is fitted into the swaged nut which allows quick removal of the bolt without it dropping out of the cup. This ensure bolts are not lost.
